We are excited to share with you the latest updates about our new all-electric Macan.
From faster charging, new aerodynamics and innovative design, the all-electric Macan is set to launch us into the next stage of our journey. The groundbreaking all-new Macan is a first of its kind to be built on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and is undergoing intensive testing, preparing for its global debut.
The 800-volt architecture of the Premium Platform Electric in the new Macan enables high-performance fast charging.
With charging standards differing in locations the prototype has been majorly tested to ensure it has been adapted accordingly to work no matter the framework conditions. The DC charging capacity at 800-volt charging stations is up to 270 kW. At 400-volt charging stations the charge level has increased from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 22 minutes. A high-voltage switch in the battery enables the splitting of the 800-volt battery into two, each with a rated voltage of 400, enabling efficient charging without the need of the additional HV booster, at up to 150 kW.
The designers and aerodynamic engineers have worked closely together to maintain the product identity of the successful Macan whilst meeting the aerodynamic requirements to ensure high efficiency and range.
A remarkable achievement to highlight is the drag coefficient of 0.25 from a previous 0.35 making the Macan one of the most aerodynamic SUVs. The ranges according to WLTP will be more than 500 km for all variants.
To date, the all-electric Macan has been put through its paces having completed more than three and a half million test kilometres across public roads and on test tracks. Covering all temperature ranges, from minus 30 degrees Celsius to plus 50 degrees Celsius.
The new Macan delivers exceptional handling and power with features including the latest generation PSM motors, Porsche Traction Management, and innovative suspension system. This delivers more than 450 kW over boost of power offering exceptional efficiency and optimum reproducibility of power. This providing 1,000 Nm of torque with Launch Control in the top model in almost real time.
